Chimborazo (chim-bo-RAH-so) Publishing, Inc., specializes in providing ancillary materials for textbooks at the high school, college, and trade levels. Our founder and chairman, Dr. Paul Nagin, is a computer scientist, researcher, and author who has taught and published extensively for over 35 years, including writing textbooks for many of the major publishing houses. Initially, we worked in computer science, information science and mathematics textbooks, but we now have subject matter experts in a variety of academic disciplines, including psychology, engineering, electronics, sciences, and music, and trades such as nursing, automotive, construction, electrical, fire prevention, graphic communications, paralegal, and welding.

Chimborazo functions as a virtual company, giving our employees the convenience of working from home, while eliminating travel time and cost. During over ten years of operation we have developed a scalable workflow system that enables us to simultaneously produce an unlimited number of book-length ancillary projects each month. The projects comprise a variety of components, including Instructor’s Manuals, PowerPoint presentations, test banks, solutions manuals, lab manuals, and distance learning content. We are also available for project management, copy-editing, developmental editing, and curriculum development.

Each project is assigned to a Chimborazo specialist. This is someone who has extensive experience in the particular subject, through a combination of university courses, industry experience, and teaching. All Chimborazo employees have completed an MA/MS or PhD in their respective discipline. They are selected for their technical expertise as well as for their ability to summarize and present material in writing. During the interview process we examine past examples of writing, as well as university and industry projects they have worked on.

Each project is monitored on a daily basis by our project management team and each is subject to intense scrutiny, with at least two sets of eyes reviewing and copy-editing the work. We maintain a near-zero error rate and take pride in our degree of quality control. We have close working relationships with the various editors and project managers at the publishing houses.

With the experience gained from developing supplements for over 750 titles, our work has a reputation both for accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.

Simply stated, we have created a turn-key system that produces the highest quality product with the least amount of post-processing work left for the publisher.
